There was a very nice article in Le Devoir over the weekend about the lack of visual arts coverage in French newspapers in Quebec. Unfortunately, I don't think it is going to make anyone or anything change. And if you want me to get really cynical, the amount of coverage the visual arts gets in newspapers (of any language) doesn't really matter, circulation has been declining for years, no one under the age of 40 reads newspapers anymore, so complaining about lack of coverage in a medium which is irrelevant is sort of like complaining about the lack of cultural diversity in the Antartic.
