Less than 1.5%

Howdy!

According to the Gazette (I was unable to find confirmation at the Big National Library, the City, or the Province) the province of Quebec is going to spend 1.4% of the budget alloted to municipal libraries "specifically for books catering to immigrants."

Ain't it nice to be welcomed with open arms?

[update 4:30 pm: Those pesky zeros! Make that 14% My bad. I still don't think it's enough, but it is better than I initially thought...]

[update Wednesday morning: Thanks to Marc Snyder's comment I discovered that the original press release had a mistake ($10 million in total going to libraries) so now the percentage for immigrants is down to 7% or so. Which is definitely not enough.]
