The longer and more detailed version

Monday June 6 - Rebecca Pronsky, 7:30 pm [jazzy pop] $5/free for members

Ms. Pronsky is a joy to behold and hear. You're going to be very happy that you have two ears when you listen to her play here, because one ear is not enough. Irwin Block and Alain Brunet have already expressed interest in checking the show out (if you don't know who they are, they are the most influential and important music critics in the world! Plus they're really nice guys) If that isn't enough to make you wanna rush right down, then how about if I promise each and every last one of you who show up a cheerful "howdy!" when you walk in the door? As is usual around these parts, the show will be recorded for your listening pleasure, and become Volume 178 in the live at Zeke's gallery series.

Tuesday June 7 - Lonesome Pine Special, 7:30 pm [country, duh!] $5/free for members

This will be the fourth time that Marie des neiges Stockland plays here at the gallery, and if she hailed from Brooklyn then she would be playing here the night before (nothing like carpooling to save on gas…). Her voice has previously been compared to that of an angel, but personally I think she sings much more like a songbird. I've heard rumors that Dirty Ol' Band will be joining her as well, making this a fancy double bill! As all of them have previously played here, but normally are found on Crescent street, this is a rare opportunity to avoid the Eurotrash wannabes while listening to some kick-ass music. Volume 179, for those of you keeping count.

Too indie for the indies, and being picked up by the mainstream too boot! Sean, Mickey and Joe all from a variety of places in the grand ole US of A. But you can bet the farm that they didn't vote for George Bush Jr. For all the NDP voters here, you gonna have a ball! They'll be bringing books, kick-ass books, and doing readings, kick-ass readings. I know for certain that they're gonna be kick-ass readings, 'cuz all of them have read here before. And I am proud to have 'em back. Their stories are wonderful and amazing. If you want more details, or want to hear me foam at the mouth about them some more, just ask, ok?

Thursday June 23 - Kirsten Jones & Kristin McCaig, 7:30 pm [country folk] $5/free for members

I think this one is going to be a keeper. Not only has it spawned The Shawn/Sean Tour (see August 13) but now has caused me to actively seek out similarly named musicians and make this a habit. But you're not gonna want to miss Ms. Jones and Ms. McCaig, both of them sing sweeter than pure cane sugar. Add in their melodious strumming and I'll guarantee you're gonna be grinning like a silly fool after hearing them here.

The dreaded other stuff.

Read the blog, please and thank you

Since every penny counts, I'm hiring. If any of you want to be a fundraiser, or know of anyone who wants to be a fundraiser for Zeke's Gallery, let me know. OK? Hit reply or swing by with a CV.

Then as usual I'm still looking for help with my translations. If you know of anyone (or can do it yourself) Hit reply or swing by (no need for a CV with this one)

Do you have an extra Coffee Machine that you're no longer using? The gallery could use it. I'll even come pick it up. Thanks in advance.
