Howdy!
I was alerted this morning by Modern Art Notes, that ArtForum started a blog-like thing. Initially I thought cool. Then I thought "hey, let's see if Montreal gets mentioned anywhere." Bad thought. Searching the ArtForum website for the word "Montreal" yields fourteen hits. On the bright side, this is twice the amount that there was back in May. On the downside (the very downside) six of the new hits appear to have been picked up from the CBC. Which is about the worst place to get art news in the entire country. The seventh, if because there a scads of bands here in town that are getting all sorts of critical acclaim, so Lesbians on Ecstasy, E.S.G., and The Arcade Fire all make various Top 10 lists about music in ArtForum.
It'd be nice if they actually covered the art here every decade or so.
